I’m writing this article with the fullest, broadest, smile on my face and joy coursing through me; it feels like its been a long time coming, and I’m finally, proudly introducing the “Best ADHD And Autism Friendly Holidays”. As a Neurodivergent Mother with Neurodivergent Children, there has honestly never been an article I’ve been more happy or excited to write for my website than this one!
The communications I’ve received from my friends at TUI in the build-up to this moment, where I’m sitting here tapping away at my lap-top, have rendered my heart full and my eyes watery…in short, I FEEL SEEN!
This is an article I’ve been longing to write for years, and in all truth I’ve simply not found the holidays I thought were strong enough to fit the bill. Perhaps a bit of a half-hearted attempt at inclusion here and there, but nothing I thought I could proudly shout out about and proclaim truly ADHD and Autism Friendly.
As a Neurodivergent adult I have first hand experience of how a resort can feel when it doesn’t really cater to your needs: overwhelming and stress-inducing at best, terrifying at worst: so much noise, so much colour, so much going on…when you get it wrong it really can feel like an Anti-holiday.
Because I understand this, I feel it even more keenly when my children are with me because I can see and feel the tension building in their little bodies, I see them gradually becoming more, rather than less, tired, shrinking into themselves as the exhaustion mounts up and they try to deal with, and make sense of, the environment around them. They’d love to make friends but will they, can they? Will I even get them through the Kids’ club door?!
Truth be known, it’s Neurodivergent families who need our holidays the most, yet 20% of us hold off on making that booking because we’re just not sure the holiday in question is going to adequately deliver the well-earned break we deserve. Well, the good news is that the landscape of ADHD And Autism Friendly Holidays is about to change!
Five Fully Neuro Inclusive Resorts, with the promise of More to Come
In Summer 2025, TUI Introduced their first two fully Neuro Inclusive holiday resorts, going above and beyond for families like ours with neurodivergence to consider. The heart-felt response and feedback from neurodivergent families was phenomenal, with many eagerly booking to show their support in hopes this would push the growth of the concept. Once again TUI listened, and, as a result, as of Summer 2026 three new resorts have been added to the collection!
The best part is that this isn’t just a flash in the pan, they’ve really thought about how to deliver truly outstanding ADHD And Autism Friendly Holidays for all of us.
All childcare staff at TUI BLUE Aura in Ibiza, TUI BLUE Atlantica Aeneas and TUI BLUE Nausicaa Beach in Cyprus, and TUI BLUE Tropical and TUI BLUE Palm Garden in Turkey have received Bespoke SEN Childcare Training. A wider E-Learning training will be rolled out across the business.
Six Childcare and Neurodiversity Regional Champions have been fully trained and will be supporting teams across resorts, all of which now have in-depth SEN experience and can be called upon for advice in times of need.
Furthermore, a three year contract has been signed by TUI with a SEN Agency for ongoing training and support, meaning this is just the start of what they will be offering in terms of ADHD and Autism Friendly Holidays. Best ADHD And Autism Friendly Holidays: Inclusive Kids Clubs
What I love best about these fabulous new ADHD and Autism Friendly Holidays is the measures put in place to ensure Neurodivergent children are catered for, relaxed and Included. Children will be invited to complete “All About Me” forms to help hotel staff understand their needs. Now and Next Boards will now be provided during Kids Club sessions as a familiar tool which keeps children comfortable and anxiety-free until pick-up time.
Communication Cards covering a wide range of objects and feelings will also be readily available to help children express themselves. There will also be a sensory bags available for added comfort-factor.
I always recommend TUI as my favourite holiday provider for families, precisely because their level of child care is already so high. All Childcare staff are trained to British Level 2 & 3 standard, and will now have the benefit of extra training to cater specifically to children with ADHD and Autism.
Best ADHD And Autism Friendly Holidays: Sensory Rooms
As an Integral part of the ADHD and Autism Friendly Holidays gold standard, all ADHD & Austism Friendly family resorts include Sensory Rooms. These calming sensory environments offer two to three dedicated sessions a week and host extra sessions for under 3s. Outside of these times they will be kept locked, but the key will always be available to any Neurodivergent parent or Child wanting or needing to use them.
These sensory rooms have been designed to “provide a tranquil space where adults/children can retreat from the sensory overload of the typical Holiday environment” (TUI) And no expense has been spared here, the rooms will include: Fibre optic carpet and curtain, sequin, mirror and emotion walls, bubble tube, sensory foot rollers and More.

Food difficulties are so often inter-twined with Neurodivergence, and this is another box you can expect to be ticked on these ADHD and Autism Friendly Holidays. We’ve been lucky enough to visit several TUI BLUE resorts ourselves, and everything is carefully labelled with allergens. The choice is broad and varied, meaning there’s something for everyone. Staff are very responsive, and whatever you need, be it a specific dish or a quiet area of the restaurant, they will endeavour to help you as much as possible.
