On our first trip to Florida, we stayed in a Villa, which was lovely, but a 30 minute drive from the parks (in a hire car we’d also had to budget in). Once we arrived, we had to pay $25 dollars a day for parking. We left the parks early some days to visit the super-market, which was expensive, and then returned to the villa exhausted to cook dinner. We had a fabulous, magical holiday, but our next holiday will definitely be on-site. Staying on-site saves time, money, and allows you to dip in and out as you wish, as well as offering some marvellous Disney perks too!

1. Easy access to a whole Disney World of Constant Entertainment
Walt Disney World Florida now boasts four fantastic theme parks, offering day after day of full-to-the-brim excitement, amusement and fun. Each park is open morning until evening (with extra magic hours for Disney hotel guests!) and offers a different adventure each day. At the centre of the action is the glorious Magic Kingdom with Cinderella’s castle. Follow the delightful shops of Disney’s main-street, stopping for much yummy Mickey-shaped confectionary, and you will arrive there. Look up at it by night and you’ll be dazzled by more fireworks than you could ever imagine filling the sky entirely, visit by day and grin endlessly as you watch parades filled with dance, song and joy, and all your favourite Disney characters, moving past. Magic Kingdom offers all of your story book favourite experiences: fly with Peter Pan, follow Snow White and Pinocchio’s adventures, swoop with Dumbo and take a ride on the Carousel. The big three: splash, space and thunder mountains offer some family friendly thrills, as does the new Tron ride! Meet Mickey, Tigger and Pooh, go and visit a show or two.
Hop on a monorail and you’ll be ready to explore the world at Disney’s Epcot, visiting many different countries (and their famous inhabitants) in the showcase. We particularly enjoyed meeting Elsa in Norway, and Remy in France! You’ll have the chance to experiencing some big thrills here too (including the new Guardians of the galaxy coaster) too. Visit Hollywood Studios and feel the thrills of movie set adventures, including Star Wars for the die-hard fans and bigger kids. At Animal kingdom you’ll delight in characters dressed and ready to take you on safari adventures across 100 sprawling acres of Savannah, watch some awesome parades and Lion King shows, oh and you can also take flight on an Avatar Banshee and enjoy further thrills whilst you’re in residence!
Each park offers rides, thrills, shows, parades, and night-time dazzles. The “ooos” and “ahhs” are ceaseless. There are so many of them, in fact, that you’ll want to make the most of a 14 day ticket for the price of 7, which is something our friends at TUI can offer you when you book. This will also give you enough time to make the most of the two fun-filled water adventure parks your tickets include access to: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach!
2. The out-of-this world Disney-Themed Accommodation
Disney hotels are second to none in terms of Service, Theme, and of course, perks. When you book a Disney Hotel through TUI you are entitled to extra magic hours at all of the parks. This means valuable time each day when you can visit all of your favourite rides without the big queues. By booking ahead and claiming your Disney-Dining credit, you are also assuring your most affordable holiday option. Super-market shopping in Florida is pricey. When you stay in a Villa off-site, you also incur the costs of a hire car, and will need to pay $25 a day for parking. None of these costs apply when you stay in a Disney hotel.
