One of the most frequently asked questions we receive from parents is “Can you Please Recommend a holiday for a child with a food allergy?” Travelling with little ones can be a daunting prospect on its own, let alone travelling with a child with a serious allergy. This inevitably means carrying many concerns about what they will eat when you are away, how you will source the food, and how you will feed them. It has always been our goal to make it quick and easy for families to find exceptional holidays they can relax and enjoy together. Part of that is ensuring that this is also possible for those of you who have serious worries about your children being able to safely eat the right food.

We first encountered TUI BLUE for Families when we visited TUI BLUE Mallorca Mar in Majorca in 2023. We were immediately bowled over by how fabulous their offering was for families with a food allergy. In the restaurants every dish was clearly labelled with allergens, and there were separate areas for Gluten Free and Dairy Free Diners, as well as a great Vegan Section. Impressed with the whole TUI BLUE for families concept, we headed to TUI BLUE Orquidea in 2024. We were delighted to discover that the great service we’d experienced the year before was uniform.

This time, we took the opportunity to talk to the TUI BLUE for Families Manager about whether they had a process communicating with families with food allergies to consider, before arrival. She relayed that, after booking, families are encouraged to contact the hotel. The hotel will then send them a form requesting food allergy specifics. Often families are happy to pick from the carefully labelled choices on offer. But, if they are still concerned, the chef with individually prepare their food for each meal for them, away from allergens, with families asked to make selections the day prior.
