It’s something of a surprise to me to be writing this Blog post about the Marella Discovery 2 and Family Friendly Cruises! The beauty of a cruise is that it makes travelling with children so much easier, taking much of the need for planning out of your travels, transporting you seamlessly from one beautiful destination to another, with nothing to do or think about but enjoying yourselves.

Does the Marella Discovery 2 really cater for kids?
Yes! If you’re looking for a child friendly holiday where your kids will be entertained…this is it!! There’s a climbing wall on board, indoor and outdoor pools with hot tubs, an outdoor cinema, mini golf, and Broadway-Style entertainment every evening!
Is there a Kids’ Club?
They do! You’ll find a huge range of Baby, Kids and Teens clubs on board to entertain children of all ages. For the littlest children there’s a baby centre with soft play and sing along and sing and sign classes. From 3 years old your child can attend Kids’ club (M Club) which is free to 3-11 year olds and a great place to meet friends, enjoy arts and crafts, movie nights, and take visits up to see the Captain! Teens are well catered for too with their own hideout, conveniently located next to the gaming area!

Will we all be able to sleep together in one cabin?
There are several options for family accommodation onboard the ship, you can choose between a family room with Queen Sized double and extra sofa beds, or for a special adventure, a cabin with twin beds and fold down upper berths for extra sleeping space!

What’s in it for the parents?
Whilst the Kids are busy being entertained, there’s so much for you to enjoy too. Let’s start with the restaurants…there’s a Sushi Bar, Glass House with Balinese Beds, Squid and Anchor and Live Bar with Signature Yellow Piano…that’s just for starters. There’s a jogging track on deck, a gym, and an on-ship Spa to enjoy too. On deck 11 you’ll find a cocktail bar which enjoys incomparable ocean views, and a disco.
